The SwitchBot Mini is a small powerful vacuum cleaner with a lot of features. It's perfect for homes and apartments with small spaces. We also found its navigation and mapping abilities to be exceptional as it effortlessly avoided obstacles while moving furniture.

It also has 10 flagship level sensors, so it can even navigate the most confined spaces. It is very efficient and requires very little energy despite its smart capabilities.
The app that runs the robot is well-designed and user-friendly, with a an easy-to-use interface. The main screen shows basic information like the status of the dustbin, filter, and mop plate. You can also set cleaning settings, create highly customized schedules and generate reports directly from the app.
You can also set no-go zones, which will stop the robot from entering specific areas of your home. This is great if you want to keep your robot away from areas that aren't suitable for it, such as the kitchen or pet area. The app will also help you keep the battery in check and ensure that it is charged for optimal operation.
Once the robot has finished cleaning, it automatically returns to its Station for charging. The station can be moved from room to room if needed, but it's quite loud when sucking in what it collected before returning to the dock for charging.
There is some physical setup that you must do when you first take the K10+ out of its packaging and remove any foam padding that is left in crevices and gaps. It's important to place the machine in close proximity to an electrical socket, and you'll need decent WiFi coverage to connect to the app. The included accessories include a filter spare, side brush and package of disposable mop pads. These accessories are a great addition to the robot since they add convenience and reduce time spent changing supplies.
The Shark IQ XL
The Shark IQ XL offers an impressive number of advanced features and is reasonably well-built for less than $400. It's a more efficient robot than the eufy RoboVac G30. It feels more comfortable to use and works better on low- and high pile carpet. It also has a better way of getting around obstacles such as electrical cords.
Its battery life is exceptional it can run in high-suction "Max" mode for more than an hour. The large bagless storage area is easy to clean. Simply take out the side bin, and empty it into the trashcan. There's no need for bags to clean or any extra fuss. The IQ's companion application allows users to assign the IQ to specific rooms. You can also re-start the cleaning process where you began if charging is needed partway through. And schedule multiple cleaning sessions in one day, if needed.
The IQ XL did a great job on hard floors, but struggled on carpets with a medium pile. It was unable to catch larger crumbs, and occasionally put debris in corners it shouldn't have. The side brush of the robot can sometimes fail to collect dirt or to sweep it away. It also navigates in straight line rather than zigzagging, like more advanced robots.
You can create no-go zones on the map of the IQ XL application by draggin boundary rectangles. It can be difficult to adjust these boxes, so we'd rather use virtual walls that are easier to draw.
The IQ XL also has a feature that we found very useful the Ultra-Clean Mode. This mode doubles the robot’s suction power, and utilizes its brushes to sweep the floor in a crosshatch. This is particularly useful for areas that are heavily trafficked, but we're disappointed that it's not offered on all of the current models. It is possible to set a timer that will automatically trigger a single Ultra Clean cycle in any room of the home.
The Shark Matrix
Shark's ION series robot vacuums are a step above the competition with their LIDAR mapping capabilities and self-emptying bases. The Matrix however, takes things a step further by offering two-in-one vacuuming and mopping.
The Matrix like all robotic vacuums can be used to clean floors using a traditional upright, or equipped with a powered pad that can agitate the floor and scrub it for a more thorough clean. It can be used in both vacuum and mop modes, which employ the same cleaning pad for both cleaning your floors and getting rid of any stains or dirt that are difficult to remove. The powerful cleaning mode of the matrix is particularly effective on carpets, using an array of grids to make multiple passes over dirt and debris for 30% better stain removal than Roomba robot vacuums.
The Matrix is also much simpler to use than a modern Roomba. The process of creating a spot-cleaning zone is as simple as dragging a square into the designated tab within the Shark app, while Roomba owners must manually create and label a specific cleaning zone on their map. The Matrix also comes with the option of a physical button that allows you to start cleaning without opening the app.
Other features that are quality-of-life are included in the Matrix that include three suction power modes (normal, Eco, and high-power 'Max') and a recharge/resume feature that lets it take over where it left off in the event that it is required to return to its dock. Its battery life was slightly higher than the AI Ultra's, and its overall performance in picking up debris from a variety surfaces was outstanding.
The only drawbacks to the Matrix is that it uses up its battery faster than other models, and its cleaning of pet hair is somewhat inconsistent. The Matrix is still a good option for most homes and it improves on the AI Ultra in a few significant ways. It is constructed better, recharges quicker and can pick up more debris on flooring with low pile. Plus, its 'Eco' and Max modes are a nice step up from the AI Ultra's Normal mode.
